Two minimalisms, one light.
In the Joseon dynasty, potters made a vessel they could not fully control. Two hemispheres, thrown separately and joined at the waist — never perfectly symmetrical, never painted, never glazed in colour. They called it the moon jar. Its beauty is not in what was added, but in everything that was left out.
Eight thousand kilometres west, the same restraint had already been carved into stone: the crescent, the pointed arch, the eight-fold star. Geometry that does not decorate a space so much as make room inside it.
